Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your driver-guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. If you arrive early, you can take a short tour around the city or simply relax at your lodge. In the evening, your guide will provide a detailed briefing about the safari ahead.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Baobabs & Elephants

After breakfast, depart Arusha around 8:30 AM for the 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, often called Tanzania’s hidden gem. The park is famous for its giant baobab trees, ancient landscapes, and most of all, its large elephant herds. Your full-day game drive will explore different areas of the park, with high chances to spot giraffes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, ostriches, and more.

Stop for a picnic lunch at the Tarangire River, where animals gather during the dry season, offering excellent photographic opportunities. After the safari, drive to your nearby lodge in Mto wa Mbu for a relaxing dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Serengeti via Ngorongoro – Game Drives Begin

Today you embark on the scenic journey from Mto wa Mbu to Central Serengeti, passing through the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the crater and Maasai villages scattered along the roadside.

En route, you have the option to visit a traditional Maasai boma (entry fee not included) to learn about this iconic culture.

Arrive in Serengeti National Park by mid-afternoon and immediately begin your game drives. You’ll explore the Seronera Valley, known for its high concentration of wildlife and regular sightings of lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Sunset in the Serengeti is a highlight—golden light over the acacia trees and endless plains.

Day 4: Morning Serengeti Safari & Transfer to Ngorongoro

Start early with a sunrise game drive in the Serengeti, when predators are most active. Search for prides of lions, grazing elephants, and the elusive cheetah. Depending on the season, you may also witness parts of the Great Migration as wildebeests and zebras cross the plains in search of fresh pasture.

After lunch at the camp, pack up and begin your drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater rim, arriving by late afternoon. Your lodge sits near the edge of the crater, offering a peaceful night surrounded by highland wilderness.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Return to Arusha

Wake up early for a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called Africa’s “Garden of Eden.” The crater’s 600-meter-high walls create a natural enclosure for over 25,000 animals, including the Big Five. Keep your eyes peeled for black rhinos, which are rarely seen elsewhere.

Enjoy a half-day safari on the crater floor, followed by a scenic picnic lunch near a hippo pool. In the early afternoon, ascend the crater and begin the drive back to Arusha. Arrive in the evening and settle in for your final night.

Day 6: Departure Day

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the airport for your international flight or next destination. If you have extra time, optional excursions in Arusha can be arranged at additional cost.
