Day 1: Arrive Early & Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

If your flight lands before 10:00 a.m., your driver-guide will greet you at Entebbe Airport and begin the scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. The journey is long—around 9 hours—but filled with iconic stops, including a brief break at the equator and lunch in Mbarara. As the road winds into the misty hills of the Kigezi Highlands, you’ll begin to understand why this region is called “The Switzerland of Africa.”

Arriving at your lodge just outside the national park, you’ll have time to settle in and rest ahead of the next day’s jungle trek. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

The duration of the trek can vary, depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family. Once found, you’ll spend a magical hour quietly observing these gentle giants—a powerful and humbling experience that will stay with you forever.

After returning from the forest and checking out, you’ll be transferred to nearby Lake Bunyonyi, a serene haven known for its emerald waters and birdlife.
