If your flight arrives early, you may opt for a visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens—a serene space filled with birdlife, colobus monkeys, and tropical flora. It’s the perfect way to ease into your Uganda adventure.

Day 2: Rhino Tracking & Transfer to Murchison Falls NP

After breakfast, begin the journey northward to Murchison Falls National Park. En route, stop at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track southern white rhinos on foot—your first member of the Big Five! After an hour with these prehistoric giants, continue to Masindi for lunch.

By afternoon, you’ll enter Murchison Falls NP, Uganda’s largest and most dramatic park. The scenery opens into savannah dotted with palm trees, acacia woodland, and wildlife-rich plains. Arrive at Pakuba Safari Lodge in time for dinner and sunset views over the Nile River.

Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Safari to the Falls

Start your day with a sunrise game drive across the northern sector of the park. Watch the plains come alive with giraffes, buffaloes, lions, hartebeests, and more. Birders will enjoy spotting hornbills, bee-eaters, and eagles soaring above the savannah.

After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls. Spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, and elephants as you sail up the Victoria Nile. You’ll disembark for a hike to the top of the falls, where the river is forced through a narrow 7-meter gorge, crashing 43 meters below—a thunderous natural spectacle.

Day 4: Scenic Transfer to Kibale Forest NP

After breakfast, begin the long but rewarding drive to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The journey showcases Uganda’s rural beauty—banana plantations, crater lakes, and rolling hills blanketed in tea estates.

Arrive at Isunga Lodge, a beautiful eco-retreat nestled on a forested hillside. Spend the evening soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, enjoying views that stretch to the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 5: Chimp Trekking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

This morning, set off into Kibale Forest—a prime destination for chimpanzee trekking. With the guidance of expert rangers, track a family of wild chimps through dense vegetation. Once found, you’ll spend an hour observing their play, grooming, and social behavior.

After lunch, continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through crater lake country and rural communities. Arrive at Pumba Safari Cottages in time to relax and enjoy dinner with views over the savannah.

Day 6: Game Drive & Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

Wake up early for a game drive through the Kasenyi plains, where lions and other big cats roam in search of prey. Spot elephants, warthogs, antelope, and an incredible variety of bird species.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This 32-km natural waterway is home to the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. Watch elephants, crocodiles, and buffalos along the shores while birds like kingfishers and fish eagles soar above.

Day 7: Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions & Transfer to Bwindi

Today, drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. With luck, you’ll see them draped lazily in fig trees. Other wildlife in the area includes topi, elephants, and buffalos.

By afternoon, arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to nearly half the world’s mountain gorillas. Settle in at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, surrounded by misty hills and lush forest. Rest up—tomorrow is the big day.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, head to the ranger station for a briefing, then venture into the forest for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience. The trek may be challenging, but the moment you lock eyes with a silverback in the wild is profoundly moving.

After your time with the gorillas, enjoy lunch and then drive to Lake Bunyonyi, often called the “Switzerland of Africa.” This scenic crater lake is dotted with 29 islands and surrounded by terraced hills. Unwind with lakeside views and a cool breeze.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Optionally, you may join a night game drive to spot nocturnal species like leopards, genets, and bush babies. The small size of the park means high chances of sightings.

Day 10: Walking Safari & Departure from Entebbe

Rise early for a guided walking safari, one of the unique offerings in Lake Mburo NP. Walk alongside zebras, giraffes, topi, and bushbucks with an armed ranger—a thrilling and immersive experience. Hike to a hilltop viewpoint to admire the lake-dotted landscape.

Return to the lodge for breakfast, then begin your journey back to Entebbe International Airport, stopping for photos at the Equator en route. Arrive in time for your evening flight, full of memories from an unforgettable Ugandan safari.
