Day 1: Journey to Amboseli National Park

Your adventure kicks off with a 7:30 am pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport. From here, your guide will take you on a scenic drive south towards Amboseli National Park. By early afternoon, you’ll check in at Sentrim Amboseli and enjoy a delicious hot lunch. After some rest, set out at 4:00 pm for your first game drive through the vast plains of Amboseli.

This park is one of the best places in Africa to see large herds of elephants up close, with Mount Kilimanjaro’s snowy peak creating a dramatic backdrop. The elephants here are individually known and tracked, making this population one of the most studied in the world. Keep an eye out for other wildlife like buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and cheeky vervet monkeys before heading back for dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 2: Full-Day Exploration of Amboseli

Today is all about immersing yourself in the wonders of Amboseli. You can choose to begin with a relaxed breakfast and head out around 7:30 am with a packed lunch for a full-day safari adventure. Alternatively, enjoy an early morning game drive at dawn, when predators are active, and then return to camp for breakfast and leisure time.

In the late afternoon, embark on another game drive from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, the perfect time for golden-hour photography. With Amboseli’s swamps attracting a variety of animals, today offers excellent chances to witness dramatic wildlife interactions.

Day 3: Onward to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After an early breakfast, your safari continues north toward the Laikipia region. You’ll journey along the foothills of Mount Kenya, cross the equator, and arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy around midday. After checking in and enjoying lunch at Comfort Gardens Sweetwaters, relax before heading out on an afternoon game drive.

Ol Pejeta is home to the last two northern white rhinos on Earth and also houses the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary—Kenya’s only place to see rescued chimps. This conservancy offers an amazing mix of savannah wildlife and endangered species protection, making it one of the most unique stops on your journey.

Day 4: From Ol Pejeta to Samburu

Start the morning with an optional early game drive in Ol Pejeta before having breakfast and beginning your drive to Samburu National Reserve. This semi-arid landscape is strikingly different, with rugged hills and the Ewaso Ng’iro River providing essential water to the region.

After lunch and some downtime at Samburu Simba Lodge, head out on an afternoon game drive in search of leopards and other elusive wildlife. Don’t miss the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and the long-necked gerenuk.

Day 5: Wildlife Watching in Samburu

Take full advantage of Samburu’s golden mornings with a 6:00 am game drive when animals are most active. Return for breakfast and relax at the lodge until mid-afternoon, when the temperatures cool down. Then embark on another game drive at 4:00 pm.

Samburu’s rugged terrain and lower visitor numbers make for a more intimate and off-the-beaten-path safari experience. You’ll wrap up the day with dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6: Scenic Day in Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, set off for Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch at Kongoni Naivasha Lodge. The day’s main activities include a serene boat safari across the lake, where you can spot hippos and rich birdlife, followed by a guided walk on Crescent Island among peaceful herbivores like giraffes and antelope.

The rest of the afternoon is for relaxing at the lodge before dinner.

Day 7: Hell’s Gate Adventure & Transfer to Masai Mara

After breakfast, visit nearby Hell’s Gate National Park, known for its dramatic gorges, volcanic landscapes, and towering cliffs. You’ll enjoy the rare chance to cycle among zebras and gazelles, and take a guided hike into the famous gorge featured in The Lion King.

After lunch, begin your journey to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, you’ll settle in at Zebra Plains Mara Camp. In the evening, local Maasai warriors will guide you on a short walking safari and cultural visit to learn more about their traditions. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 8: Full-Day Safari in Masai Mara

Today’s schedule is flexible: you can either opt for an early morning drive followed by breakfast and a relaxed morning at camp, or head out for a full-day game drive at 7:30 am with a picnic lunch.

Your guide will take you to prime wildlife areas, including the Mara River, where, during the migration season (July–October), massive herds of wildebeest and zebra attempt the treacherous crossing. Expect to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and more.

Day 9: Another Day in the Wild

Repeat your preferred safari schedule from Day 8. Masai Mara’s diverse habitats and abundant wildlife ensure that no two game drives are the same. With luck, you might even spot a leopard or witness a lion hunt!

In the evening, enjoy a well-earned rest and share stories of your adventures around the campfire.

Day 10: Return to Nairobi

After breakfast and one last look over the savannah, begin your drive back to Nairobi. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for optional activities in the city like visiting the Giraffe Centre, Karen Blixen Museum, or a local craft market.

Your guide will ensure you’re dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward journey, marking the end of an unforgettable 10-day safari through Kenya’s most iconic landscapes.
