Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met by a friendly representative from Safari Soles and driven to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you might have the option for a short city tour, exploring local markets, the Cultural Heritage Center, or enjoying the peaceful garden of your hotel.

In the evening, you’ll meet your safari guide for a detailed briefing about the adventure ahead. Use this time to relax, adjust to the local climate, and prepare for the exciting days to come.

Day 2: Game Drive in Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, head south to Tarangire National Park, a two-hour drive that will mark the true beginning of your wildlife experience. Known for its ancient baobabs and massive herds of elephants, Tarangire is a landscape photographer’s dream and a haven for big cats, giraffes, and hundreds of bird species.

You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive exploring this vast park, stopping for lunch at a scenic riverside picnic area. As the day ends, you’ll set up camp inside the park, falling asleep to the sounds of nature around your tent.

Day 3: Sunrise Safari & Cultural Bike Tour

Begin your day with an early morning game drive, catching animals as they start their day in the cool golden light. Tarangire’s mornings are especially active, and this is a great opportunity to spot predators on the move.

After exiting the park, you’ll drive to the town of Mto wa Mbu, where you’ll enjoy a local lunch and embark on a guided bicycle tour through banana plantations, rice fields, and local communities. Visit a waterfall tucked in the hills before checking in at your budget lodge for the night.

Day 4: Into the Wild: Serengeti Bound

Today’s drive to Serengeti is an adventure in itself. Passing through the Ngorongoro Highlands, the scenery transforms from forested slopes to endless plains. On the way, you can choose to stop by a traditional Maasai village (optional, entry fee not included) to learn about their fascinating culture.

Arriving in Serengeti by early afternoon, you’ll begin exploring the iconic Seronera Valley, home to abundant wildlife and famous for its predator sightings. As the sun sets, you’ll head to your campsite inside the park, surrounded by the sounds of the bush.

Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti

Wake up at sunrise for a full day of wildlife exploration in the Serengeti. With your guide tracking movements of predators and herds, you’ll venture deeper into the park—toward the south, west, or east, depending on animal activity.

Break for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot, then continue your game drive through golden savannahs. Keep your camera ready—you never know when a lion or cheetah might appear. Return to camp in the evening and enjoy dinner under a star-studded African sky.

Day 6: Journey to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Today begins with a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, offering one more chance to see active predators or perhaps catch a dramatic hunt. Around midday, return to camp for lunch and pack up for your journey toward Ngorongoro.

As you drive up to the crater rim, the air becomes cooler and mist may roll over the landscape. Your camp tonight is Simba Campsite, perched on the edge of the crater, where the sounds of hyenas or even lions may echo through the night.

Day 7: Crater Safari & Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater just after dawn. This natural amphitheater hosts one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa, including the elusive black rhino and all members of the Big Five. Enjoy incredible photo opportunities and close animal encounters in this unique ecosystem.

After a picnic lunch at the hippo pool, you’ll ascend the crater and return to Arusha by late afternoon, where you’ll check in again at Karibu Heritage House for a well-earned rest.

Day 8: Materuni Waterfalls & Hot Springs

Today is a refreshing contrast to your days on safari. Head toward the lush foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, where you’ll hike to Materuni Waterfalls, surrounded by banana plantations and thick forest. Take a dip in the cool pool at the base of the falls before heading to a nearby coffee farm to learn about the traditional process from bean to cup.

After lunch, unwind at Kikuletwa Hot Springs, a crystal-clear natural oasis perfect for swimming and relaxing. In the evening, return to Arusha for your final overnight stay.

Day 9: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport

Your adventure ends today. After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Kilimanjaro Airport in time for your international flight. You’ll leave Tanzania with incredible memories, beautiful photos, and maybe even plans to come back for more.
